This is another of my "Grundgestalten" -- as I call my algorithmic compositions. The seed here is from Samuel Beckett's "Endgame," which led me to the choice of a... video-game footage for its videoclip.
Incidentally, the seed is a set of strings, each of which is "interpreted" as a match of a certain game of cards.

The simulator of the game is a finite-state automaton whose states are converted into notes. A simple rule generates rhythms: if at time t1 the note that I have to play is the same as the one at the time immediately before t1, then I prolong the previous note rather than playing it again.
